Romancing The Saints

If men in general are not very romantic, then men who comment on the Bible can be even less so. We might mention, in passing, events that are obviously romantic (such as Jacob’s deep love for Rachel), but we’re usually more intent on getting to the meat of the teaching than dwelling on the romance.

What if, in many passages, romance is the meat of the teaching? What if we are missing an important attribute of God - that He is incredibly romantic?

Romancing The Saints is not a guide for how we can become more romantic (although it may have that effect). It is a suggestion that we begin to understand that our Savior is romantic and that He is romancing His saints. We should therefore be looking for it in our reading and declaring it in our teaching.
